Baby "82"

Below are some pics of Edward Charles and Sarah Maude (Stewart) Williams standing on the porch @ 82 "?" Street with a very young baby. Based upon their apparent age in the photos, I'm guessing that these were taken in the 1950's.

I already checked with my Mom, and 82 was not a house number/address she can remember living at when either Diana or I were born.

Hoping these pics jog some memories. Who lived at house # 82?

And to close out this post...some of G'pa Eddie's business cards.

And if anyone's interested in card #3 above:

The Williams Chronicles featured on NEPA Blogs

Hey folks, just wanted to let you know this relatively new blog has been featured on NEPA Blogs...which has caused a nice spike in traffic already. One of our relatives, Harold Jenkins, is part of a trio of blogmasters that oversee/update this excellent site which, in their own words:

...is a site with a simple goal: to link to every blog here in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

My thanks to Harold, et al, for the nod and publicity. Perhaps my posts will spark others to start asking questions of the elders in their family so generations of interesting family history is not lost when they pass. Right now: do you know who your family historian is? Who has all the pictures, mementos...and stories?

Anyway...more in a few, but here are some pics of my Dad that I've tripped across in boxes and on old computer hard drives in the past week or so.

ECW's LTE: 1960

Seems writing LTE's is in the Williams clan's DNA.

A 1969 Letter from Aunt Elvira

This letter was written by Elvira Williams, who was the youngest sister of my great grandfather Edward C. Williams. She was the late-in-life "ooops" child  - born to Samuel and Elvira (Thomas) Williams - pictured in the front row center of the pic immediately below.

This letter was written to my Aunt Sandy ( Sarah Maude Williams ) and Uncle Bill Connelly.

Edward Charles Williams - 1958 Article

Memorial Day: 1891 to present

Above/Below: Cousins Don & Glenn Williams warming up in ~1963

Below: Sam Williams @ Nicholson Bridge, PA

For many years circa ~1930-1940, my grandfather pictured below would get up before dawn, climb up at/near the top of the Nicholson Bridge, and play taps as the sun came up on Memorial Day.  Just another family tradition passed down verbally from my father over the years.

Check out the pic above. Talk about precision marching!

Many more to follow.
